This is the Debian GNU/Linux prepackaged version of the GNU
C/C++/Objective-C compiler and the GNU cpp preprocessor. GCC was written
by Richard Stallman and a cast of thousands. (See "Contributors" in the
info documentation for a full list.)

This package was put together by Galen Hazelwood <galenh@micron.net>, from
sources obtained from:
 ftp://prep.ai.mit.edu/pub/gnu/gcc-2.7.2.2.tar.gz

This is a special version of gcc, which builds binaries for the linuxlibc1
target. This requires the alternate libc5 development libraries. It can
coexist with the standard libc6 development packages.

Changes:
 * added Debian GNU/Linux package maintenance system files
 * Added m68k patches from Andreas "Patch God" Schwab, via James Troup
