 upstream had no clue why this fails under debian
 (see https://lists.debian.org/debian-r/2022/02/msg00001.html )
 and we have no real chance to debug this here.  Thus we trust
 on user bug reports in case there might be any issues as a
 consequence that was hidden inside this test
