Hacks in the packaging of ack for Debian
========================================

Upstream generates two variants of the script `ack`: One which uses
locally installed Perl modules and a "standalone" variant which is
more or less a portable, fat-packed version of the ack script with all
required Perl modules embedded in the script.

On Debian we only need the normal variant.

The test suite also runs against both variants. And in Debian we have
the need for two variants of the test suite, too: One for build-time
testing and one for as-installed (autopkgtest) testing.

So we reuse upstream's $ACK_TEST_STANDALONE switch by replacing it
with $AUTOPKGTEST_TMP (which is always set during autopkgtest runs) to
implement a switch which switches between the just built `ack` in the
current directory and the installed /usr/bin/ack.

See debian/patches/no-standalone-test-but-autopkgtests.patch for details.

This also means that this patch needs to be expanded _manually_ every
time upstream adds new tests (or at least when new test files were
added).
