<code>Null</code> is the function that checks whether its argument is <code>nil</code>.
For recursive definitions it is often preferable to test for the end
of a list using <code><a href="ENDP.html">endp</a></code> instead of <code>null</code>; see <a href="ENDP.html">endp</a>.
