The <a href="GUARD.html">guard</a> for <code>(remove-eq x l)</code> requires <code>l</code> to be a true list and
moreover, either <code>x</code> is a <code><a href="SYMBOLP.html">symbolp</a></code> or all elements of <code>l</code> are
symbols (i.e., <code>l</code> is a <code><a href="SYMBOL-LISTP.html">symbol-listp</a></code>).<p>
