is a program to manage your addresses, phone numbers, e-mail
addresses and everything which is now written in your rolodex.

This manual page documents the options accepted by 
.BR addressbook ,
but does not provide complete documentation for the application.  To
read the complete manual, run
.B addressbook
and select

menu.
.SH OPTIONS
Generally you will not need to use options since they are stored in
your configuration files (see 
.I "CONFIGURATION FILES"
below).

Supply the path to an alternate addressfile

to load instead of the default.

Show the usage message.

Start as an icon.  Useful if started automatically with the window
manager.

Use the directory

looks for bitmaps, language data, etc., in this location.

Try to lock the addressfile.  This is the default; it prevents
multiple copies of the software from writing to the same file.

Open address file read-only and do not try to lock it.

The following environment variables affect the behavior of

Sets the address file, same effect as the option
