</a><h3>Databases and AOLserver</h3>

</a>AOLserver can be configured to have access to multiple databases through AOLserver's database drivers.  AOLserver creates a database pool, a group of connections to a database, for each database it accesses. See <a href="con-ch3.htm#7935">page 73</a> for information on configuring AOLserver. See <a href="driv-ch4.htm#38399">page 124</a> for information on the available database drivers.</p>

</a>AOLserver interacts with databases in the following ways:</p>
You can execute DDL or DML database commands by entering DB mode with the <b>ns_cport</b> Tcl command in AOLserver's control port administration interface. See <a href="acc-ch1.htm#12755">page 91</a> for detailed information on how to use the control port interface.
