</a><b>ns_permpasswd</b> updates an existing user's password, both in the running server's memory as well as in the passwd file on disk. The <i>user</i> is the name of the user whose password is to be updated. The <i>oldpass</i> argument is the user's old password, or the nsadmin password, in plain text. The <i>newpass</i> argument is the new password in plain text.</p>
