The purpose of the first two rows of buildings is providing some kind of resource. The lower two rows of buildings are used for production and other special purposes.
Information about a specific building is presented when stepping onto the grey floor plates in front of them. For more insights please select the building and open the "view loaded units" dialog.
Entering the green fields will lead you back to the base camp.
All buildings can accommodate units, with the maximum number, size and type of unit varying with the different kinds of buildings. All buildings have the cargo dialog, available with the "view loaded units" button, to access the units parked inside. The cargo dialog also gives access to non-cargo related functions and information, like resource production. Inside any building, units can be refueled and equipped with ammo, if these supplies are available or can be produced by the buildings. You can also disband units in any building.]]
