1. INTRODUZIONE

Questa documentazione riguarda il dizionario italiano per GNU/Aspell.

Il dizionario italiano per Aspell  stato ottenuto usando il dizionario italiano creato per MySpell. MySpell  un programma creato per OpenOffice.org ed usato da altri prodotti quali mozilla-thunderbird, mozilla-firefox (plug-in spell-bound), mozilla, ...

Questo dizionario funziona con versioni di Aspell >= 0.60

4. COME CREARE IL DIZIONARIO PER ASPELL 

Questa sezione descrive come ottenere il dizionario per Aspell a partire da un dizionario per MySpell.
Questa sezione serve soltanto a chi vuole aggiornare il dizionario attualmente contenuto in questo file zip con uno pi recente ed emesso solo per MySpell.

I passi da seguire, su un sistema GNU/Linux, sono i seguenti:
1) scaricare Aspell ver. 0.60 o superiore, se gi non  disponibile a sistema, altrimenti passare al punto 6)
2) scompattare Aspell ed entrare nella directory creata
3) ./configure
4) make
5) make install
6) scaricare un dizionario di aspell per lo stesso linguaggio (es la versione 0.53)
7) ./configure
8) make
9) make install
10) a questo punto il dizionario installato funziona correttamente con aspell 0.6
11) editare il file it.dat (di default localizzato in: /usr/local/lib/aspell-0.60/) ed aggiungere le due seguenti righe:
        affix          it
        affix-compress true
12) scaricare un dizionario creato per MySpell ed estrarre i file .aff e .dic (in seguito prenderemo come esempio il dizionario italiano (it) e quindi it_IT.aff e it_IT.dic)
13) rinominare i due file come segue:
    mv it_IT.aff it_affix.dat
    mv it_IT.dic it.cwl
14) creare il nuovo dizionario per Aspell
    aspell --lang=it create master it.rws < it.cwl
15) copiare i file it_affix.dat e it.rws nella directory contenente i dizionari (di default dovrebbe essere: /usr/local/lib/aspell-0.60/)

5. COME INSTALLARE IL DIZIONARIO PER ASPELL

Se Aspell  installato, i comandi aspell e word-list-compress sono nel path e si  posizionati all'interno della directory creata dalla scompattazione del file zip, allora  possibile installare il dizionario italiano per Aspell digitando:

 ./configure

Questo comando stamper sullo standard output qualcosa tipo:

  Finding Dictionary file location ... /usr/local/lib/aspell
  Finding Data file location ... /usr/local/share/aspell
    
Se non succede questo, vuol dire che qualcosa  andato storto.

Successivamente  possibile compilare il pacchetto digitando:

 make

Infine per installare il pacchetto compilato digitare:

 make install


 possibile installare Aspell anche se il programma aspell e la word-list-compress non sono nel path. In questo caso per bisogna definire le variabili d'ambiente ASPELL e WORD_LIST_COMPRESS con i percorsi assoluti corretti. Queste variabili possono essere settate sia prima di lanciare i comandi, sia sulla linea di comando con l'opzione --vars (es: ./configure --vars VAR1=VAL1 ...)
Altre variabili utili per la configurazione sono ASPELL_PARMS e DESTDIR.

Per cancellare tutti i file ottenuti da una compilazione precedente digitare:

 make clean

Per disinstallare i file del dizionario:

 make uninstall

Subito dopo aver installato il dizionario italiano si pu settarlo come dizionario principale modificando la variabile d'ambiente LANG al valore it, o eseguire aspell con --lang=it.  possibile selezionare il dizionario direttamente con l'opzione -d o --master.

Se si hanno problemi con l'installazione o con Aspell  possibile contattare l'autore di Aspell Kevin Atkinson.

Se si hanno problemi con le parole del dizionario contattare Davide Prina.

This document is about the GNU/Aspell Italian dictionary.

The Aspell Italian dictionary has been created from the MySpell Italian dictionary. MySpell is a program created for OpenOffice.org and now used by others products as mozilla-thunderbird, mozilla-firefox (plug-in spell-bound), mozilla, ...

This dictionary work only with Aspell versions >= 0.60

4. HOW TO CREATE A ASPELL DICTIONARY

This section describe how to create one Aspell dictionary starting from a MySpell dictionary. You need to read this only if you want to have a more recent dictionary only available under the MySpell system.

For building the Aspell dictionary under GNU/Linux the steps are:
1) download Aspell ver. >=  0.60, if you don't have it already, elsewhere go to step 6)
2) uncompress Aspell and enter to the created directory
3) ./configure
4) make
5) make install
6) download one Aspell dictionary for the same language (example for the version 0.53)
7) ./configure
8) make
9) make install
10) now the new installed dictionary work with aspell 0.6
11) edit file it.dat (default located in: /usr/local/lib/aspell-0.60/) and add the followings lines:
        affix          it
        affix-compress true
12) download a MySpell dictionary; uncompress the .aff and .dic files (we will use the italian dictionary as example and so it_IT.aff and it_IT.dic files)
13) mv it_IT.aff it_affix.dat
    mv it_IT.dic it.cwl
14) now you can create the new Aspell dictionary
    aspell --lang=it create master it.rws < it.cwl
15) install the new dictionary coping the it_affix.dat e it.rws into the directory with the dictionaries (default: /usr/local/lib/aspell-0.60/)

5. HOW TO INSTALL THE ASPELL DICTIONARY

If Aspell is installed and aspell and word-list-compress are all
in the path first do a:

  ./configure

Which should output something like:

  Finding Dictionary file location ... /usr/local/lib/aspell
  Finding Data file location ... /usr/local/share/aspell

if it did not something likely went wrong.

After that build the package with:
  make
and then install it with
  make install

If any of the above mentioned programs are not in your path than the
variables, ASPELL and/or WORD_LIST_COMPRESS need to be set to the
commands (with path) to run the utilities.  These variables may be set
in the environment before configure is run or specified at the command
line using the following syntax
  ./configure --vars VAR1=VAL1 ...
Other useful variables configure recognizes are ASPELL_PARMS, and DESTDIR.

To clean up after the build:
  make clean

To uninstall the files:
  make uninstall

After the word lists are installed you can use the main one (it) by
setting the LANG environmental variable to it or running Aspell
with --lang=it.  You may also chose the dictionary directly
with the -d or --master option of Aspell.  You can chose from any of
the following dictionaries:
  it (italian italiano)
Whereas the names in parentheses are alternate names for the
dictionary preceding the parentheses.

If you have any problem with installing or using the word lists please
let me (Kevin Atkinson) know.

If you have problems with the actual word lists please contact one of
the Word lists authors as I do not maintain the actual Word Lists.

Any additional documentation that came with the original word list can
be found in the doc/ directory.
