Introduction</A>
</H1>
This chapter describes the basics of the Scientific Interface Definition
Language (SIDL). The goal is to provide sufficient information to enable
most library and component developers to begin using SIDL to wrap
their software. It begins with an overview of SIDL files followed by an
introduction to the fundamental data types. More complex topics such as
the object arrays, exceptions, objects, and the XML repository are then
addressed.
