-- README for bbmail - a tool which checks your
-- mailbox (like xbiff).

This Tool displays the status of your mailbox and warns you when new
mail has arrived. It is designed to look the same as the Blackbox toolbar
(Blackbox is a Windowmanager for X11). It is part of a set of tools called bbtools.

This verions of bbmail makes use of the Blackbox bt library which is part of Blackbox 0.70.0 and higher. At present Blackbox-0.70.0 isn't released yet, a developement version is available fom CVS.

To make is easier for people who don't want to install stuf form CVS or don't use Blackbox at all, a copy of the bt library is included in the package.

To use the local copy use the --with-local-libbt configuration option.

The local copy may be sligtely outdated since I don't plan to update the local copy of the library every time Blackbox is updated (unless there are critical bugs).

You can always get the latest release at:
			http://bbtools.sourceforge.net/

Options:
--------

The mailtool.position is given as +x+y or -x-y (or combination)
where -x-y is the (x,y) distance of the right bottom of screen
to the right bottom of bbmail.

So position -0-0 puts the application in the lower right conner of the
screen.

bbmail -w(ithdrawn):	Withdrawn, place bbmail in Blackbox Slit.

See bbmail -h for all command-line options.

Pop-support:
You can get the new and total mail information using an external program
(eg. fetchpop), without the need for getting the mail to your machine
(see data/README.bbmail).

Netscape-support:
see data/README.bbmail

For configuration options see INSTALL and data/README.bbmail
