beep (1.4.3-2) unstable; urgency=high

  From version 1.4.3 on the debconf handling got removed.  The beep binary
  won't get installed suid root anymore.  It ships now a udev rule instead
  that gives local users access to use beep.  Remote users won't be able to
  use it.

  You might need to reload the "pcspkr" kernel module after installing the
  package for it to work:

  # modprobe -r pcspkr; sleep 2; modprobe pcspkr

  This is only needed at first install.
