This is Debian GNU/Linux's prepackaged version of the "bibindex" program.
It contains "bibindex" and "biblook" which are programs for fast lookup
in BibTeX bibliography data bases. They were written by Jeff
Erickson, now at the University of California, Berkeley, with
contributions from others acknowledged in the revision histories in
the *.c files.
This Debian package was first put together by Christian Linhart
<chris@debian.org>. It is now being maintained by Rafael Laboissiere
<rafael@icp.inpg.fr>.

This Debian package features a command line history mechanism through the
GNU Readline library (an item listed in the ToDo list of bibindex). The
patch for it was created by the package maintainer (Rafael Laboissiere) and
is included in the source package in file debian/biblook-readline-2.9.patch.
The modified version of biblook/bibindex included in this Debian package is
copyrighted by Rafael Laboissiere and distributed under the GNU Public
License (in Debian systems the text of the GPL can be found in
/usr/share/common-licenses/GPL).
The original version 2.9 of bibindex/biblook was in the public domain.
