- clean up upstream Makefile.
- translate README.
- add bzip2 support.
- make debug configurable at runtime.
- create backup of incoming mail batches before processing them.
- avoid creating files in popen(3), which may cause problems with some
  versions of bash(1), which drops privileges and doesn't creates
  files as user bsmtp.
- compress backup files.
