README.Debian for bugzilla package
----------------------------------

This version of bugzilla has been highly customized to comply with Debian
Policy. As a result there may be some problems with it. If you find
something wrong, let me know.

Here is a list of known issues:

You will need to adjust some parameters to fit your site; see the "Edit
parameters" document (/cgi-bin/bugzilla/editparams.cgi).

To customize template you have to copy the template you want to change in
/var/lib/bugzilla/template/en/custom and change it there. Trouble is that
if an upgrade change the original template you will be not informed.

There is also a problem with mail since bugzilla uses a sendmail feature
(deferred mail) I cannot find in any other mail transfer agent. So, you'll
have to go to the "Edit parameters" page and switch the "sendmailnow"
parameter to "on" if you don't have sendmail installed.

Finally, purging the package doesn't destroy the bug database. If you feel
that this is a bug feel free to report it.

Important change since 2.16.7-1 :

The automatic installation mode will generate a "bugzilla" MySQL user
with a random password (which is 16 characters long).

Note that the only place where you can find this password is in
/etc/bugzilla/localconfig and moreover, that password will change
whenever you install the bugzilla package.
