Expect this library to be extremely volatile until the 1.0.0 release.
It currently works, but the behaviour of the interface isn't settled
yet.  Interfaces documented and currently functioning will probably
experience only minor changes, but there are a number left to add, and
those may go through several phases before being locked down.
