<H4> 4.2.2.4 Multi-Choice Commands </H4>
<!--docid::SEC142::-->
<P>
A multi-choice command has one or more possible values. Typing the command
without arguments will show the current value. Just type the new value after
the command to change it. Use `<SAMP>next</SAMP>' to switch to the next value and
`<SAMP>prev</SAMP>' to switch to the previous value. Example:
</P><P>
<UL>
<LI>
`<SAMP>lightmap</SAMP>': show the current lightmap setting
<P>
<LI>
`<SAMP>lightmap reasonable</SAMP>': set lightmap setting to `<SAMP>reasonable</SAMP>'
<P>
<LI>
`<SAMP>lightmap next</SAMP>': use the next value for lightmap setting
</UL>
<P>
The following multi-choice commands are available :
</P><P>
<DL COMPACT>
<DT><CODE>map</CODE>
<DD>Control the display of the map. `<SAMP>off</SAMP>' (default) is off. `<SAMP>overlay</SAMP>'
shows the map on top of the current display. `<SAMP>on</SAMP>' shows the map on its
own. While the map is active, moving with the arrow keys will move the map
instead of the display.
<P>
<DT><CODE>emode</CODE>
<DD>Select the current engine mode. Possible values are `<SAMP>auto</SAMP>' (default),
`<SAMP>back2front</SAMP>', `<SAMP>front2back</SAMP>', or `<SAMP>zbuffer</SAMP>'. With `<SAMP>auto</SAMP>'
the engine will detect the best mode the first time a frame is rendered.
`<SAMP>back2front</SAMP>' is the best way for portal worlds. `<SAMP>front2back</SAMP>'
is best for big STATBSP worlds. It will use a culler (see the `<SAMP>culler</SAMP>'
command) to cull invisible geometry. `<SAMP>zbuffer</SAMP>' is more experimental
and is meant for fast hardware.
