The <code class="methodname">DB_ENV->get_metadata_dir()</code> method
returns
the directory where persistent metadata is stored. This location
can be set using the

method.

The <code class="methodname">DB_ENV->get_metadata_dir()</code> directory may
be called at any time during the life of the application.
