As of upstream version 0.7.5 digitaldj comes with a binary called
ddj-remote. It's use is to send commands from the command line to a
running instance of digitaldj. For this purpose ddj opens up a TCP port.

I found this not secure enough. First of all I don't like random
processes opening up TCP ports on my box. Secondly I found it a bit
disturbing that random people on the network can manipulate my running
ddj, hence my mp3/ogg database.

So I, as the debian-maintainer, wrote a patch that will change the use
of TCP sockets in that of UNIX-sockets. I will try to push this upstream.
If, in the meantime, you have a problem with ddj-remote, file a bug with
the debian BTS.
