game.

is an incredibly popular 3-d shoot 'em up game where you run around and
shoot hideous monsters. You can also play against friends in a network game.
.SH OPTIONS
Note: Some of these options were figured out by inspection of the source, and
the descriptions may not be accurate. This list may be incomplete.

.B \-file filename ..
Specify additional wadfiles to load. These may contain additional levels or
sound effects to use. Any number of filenames may be specified.

.B \-2
Double pixel size. This makes the doom window bigger, but slows things down.
You are reccommended to just change to a lower resolution instead.

Triple pixel size. See caveat above.

.B \-4
Quardruple pixel size. Broken.

.B \-disp display
Specify X display to connect to.

.B \-geom +X+Y
Specify window geometry. Doesn't take the standard X geometry
specification (WxH+X+Y) but instead takes two numeric arguments
for the initial X and Y position of the window.

.B \-grabmouse
Enables an experimental mouse control mode for X. Only works in DGA mode
(ie, when you are using a local X server).

.B \-net myplayernumber host host ..
Start a network game. "myplaynumber" needs to be different for each player,
the "host" parameters specify the hostnames of the other players. For
example, a 3 player game could be started as follows:
huey> doom -net 1 dewey louie
dewey> doom -net 2 huey louie
louie> doom -net 3 huey dewey

Specifies a different port to use for network games.

.B \-debugfile filename
Send debug output to the specified filename.

.B \-nomonsters
Disable monsters.

.B \-respawn
Monsters come back to life 8 seconds after you kill them.

Makes monsters move and shoot 3 times faster.

.B \-deathmatch
Start a deathmatch game. (Default is a cooperative game.)

.B \-altdeath
Make items respawn during deathmatch game.

.B \-turbo xxx
Gives you a speed boost. The value xxx can be from 0 to 250.

Record a demo. Everything you do until doom exits will be saved into the
demo.

Specify how many K of demo buffer space to allocate. Default is 128.

.B \-playdemo filename
Play demo contained in the specified filename.

Start up in a given episode and level. If the doom game you are playing has
multiple episodes, the episode parameter is mandatory, otherwise it must not
be specified.

Specifiy episode to run.

.B \-skill n
Set skill level to use (1 to 5).

.B \-loadgame n
Load up saved game n (0 to 5).

Make levels end after n minutes of play. For network games.

games.
