This package uses quilt to apply patches during build. For generic
instructions, refer to
/usr/share/doc/quilt/README.source
in the quilt package.
There is also a "patch" target in "debian/rules"; in the debian source
tree, just call
$ ./debian/rules patch
to get a fully patched tree.
ORIG_TAR_GZ

Upstream only releases bzip2 tarballs. At the moment, you need to
convert them to gzip like so:
$ bunzip2 e-uae-0.8.29-WIP4.tar.bz2
$ gzip -9 e-uae-0.8.29-WIP4.tar
Note that you cannot reproduce an existing orig.tar.gz this way;
rather use the exact file from debian (i.e., the file is not
guaranteed to be identical).
