extipl for Debian
----------------------
Extended-IPL is a boot selector in MBR for IBM PC Compatibles.
With this boot selector, you can select a partition from
all the partitions including the logical partitions as well as
the primary ones in all the BIOS supported disks when booting a PC,
and then it will boot up the OS resides at the selected partition.
'extipl' package has the installer for normal extipl boot code
which use conventional BIOS call. The package has also documents
and sample codes for detailed investiment.
'extipl-boot' package has only the boot codes, both of normal one
and extended one. The latter is made from sample code, which uses
the new INT13 42H (Extended Read) BIOS Call. If it works, you can
boot up from the whole disk evenif the disk is bigger than > 1023cyl.
For more detail about this software, please refer the original README
file and the documents under ./English/ or ./Japanese/ directories.
