/-----------------\
Short Description
This Program uses a filesystem on a hard drive for incremental
and full backups.
All Backups can easily be accessed by standard filesystem tools
(ls, find, grep, cp, ...)
Later Backups to the same filesystem will automatically be
incremental, as unchanged files are only hard-linked with
the existing version of the file.

How To Install
use the standard way(TM) ;-)
make
sudo make install
Notice: you should use GNU-make for that, so it may
be possible to type 'gmake' on some systems (Suns).
modify /etc/faubackup.conf to suite your needs.
call 'faubackup --clean' and 'faubackup <dirtobackup>'
on a regular basis, e.g. from cron.daily.
/----------------------\
Upgrading from VBackup
VBackup was renamed to FauBackup in early 2002.
If you already have VBackup installed, you can upgrade to FauBackup
by renaming your vbackup.conf to faubackup.conf and changing your
scripts to call faubackup instead of vbackup.
The only config option that changed semantics is $find,
please read faubackup.conf(5) for it's new usage.

Documentation
Not much yet, look at the included manpage.
If you want to write something, go on :).
