In the Debian version of fidogate the config files are keeped
in /etc/fido not in %L as described in the manual.

There's a FidoPoint HOWTO in German language in the doc-linux-de
package.

To get a running FIDO point you have to edit the areas and areas.bbs
files in the /etc/fido directory. To post news you have to edit
the /etc/news/newsfeeds file and to reload it with

  # ctlinnd reload all

The current Debian version of sendmail will not work with fidogate.
You have to compile the sendmail package yourself. To get a
working sendmail you must change NAMED_BIND in src/conf.h to 0.
