<p><code class="docutils literal notranslate"><span class="pre">emit</span></code> emits, or fires, an event. Events are delivered to, or caught by, special functions called <a class="reference internal" href="../language.html#event"><span class="std std-ref">event handlers</span></a>. The arguments are passed to the event handlers as function arguments.</p>
<p>The <strong>--help</strong> or <strong>-h</strong> option displays help about using this command.</p>
