Uniprint
  Requires a modified uniprinter file for USB interface. Using the USB
interface (tested with linux-kernel 2.4.0test1), the printer no longer
claims to be a Stylus Color 670, instead it speeks about a 'USB
Printer' model from Epson. To be more exact, Stylus Color 670 needs the
same extra lines in -dupBeginPageCommand section that the Stylus Color 760
needs: (found on linux-usb.org)

Line1 = 00 00 00
Line2 = 1b 01 40 45 4a 4c 20 31 32 38 34 2e 34 0a
Line3 = 40 45 4a 4c 20 20 20 20 20 0a

  Gimp-print aka stp
  The stp/gimp-print driver works just fine; it sends those control codes already. It prints color loads better, too...<P>

<p>
The german computer magazine c't - Magazin fuer Computertechnik (21/2000)
recommends for the Epson Stylus Color 670:

  Text
  Uniprint, stc600pl

  Photo
  stp/720x720 (options:  -sModel=escp2-670 -sQuality='720 DPI Highest Quality'
      -sMediaType='Glossy Film' ).

Stp gets a 'good' rating for photo
quality!
Best ratings were achieved adding
-dImageType=2 -dGreen=85 -dGamma=1.3 .</en>
