On Solaris 10 x86, Solaris 11 x86, Solaris 10 sparc and Solaris 11 sparc,
with the Sun compiler (Solaris Studio 12.3) you need to use

	c99 -Xc -D_XPG6

to correctly compile gawk and the extensions.

Various tests can fail if the necessary locales aren't installed.
