    Fix warnings on tag not being a GtkTextTag when removing autospell

    The problem occurred because the tag table is emptied before the
    destroy function runs. This patch simply adds a weak reference to the
    tag object to be notified if it's destroyed before the finalize of the

    Auto spell check on highlight-updated

    This solves the issue where the plugin is checking the buffer before
    the syntax analysis has finished. This is only a temporary fix because

    Explicitly close output stream with cancellable in cancelled state

    This fixes an issue in GOutputStream that applies the atomic replace
    save strategy. The stream moves the written file to the original file
    when the stream is closed. However, there is no way currently to tell
    the stream that the save should be aborted (there could be a
    conversion error). The patch explicitly closes the output stream
    in all these cases with a GCancellable in the cancelled state, causing
    the output stream to close, but not move the file. This makes use
    of an implementation detail in the local gio file stream and should be
    properly fixed by adding the appropriate API in gio. Until then,
    at least
    we prevent data corruption for now.

    gtksourceview or plugins can interact with the buffer applying

    changing marks. The patch hopefully fixes bug #611757, which I cannot

    test isolating the bug.

    Rework encoding validation

    It turns out that we were beeing too smart for gtk, since we handled
    partial utf8 reads, while gtktextview needs to be fed complete utf8
    sequences. Since we have to do our own buffering before inserting the
    text we may drop the utf8 stream validation and validate directly
    in the
    document-output-stream write method.
    Fixes bug #611350.

    On-the-fly snippet activation:

    The last function in particular is useful for other plugins to
    insert text
    in the document with all the functionality of snippets available.

    Override setattr/getattr for gedit.Message to return message values

    By default, an attribute is now looked up in the message first before
    calling the default attribute handlers of python. This makes the

    API a bit more pythonic (you can do message.<key> instead of

    Implemented asynchronous reading and writing

    Before, writing to STDIN was done in one go, which fails for large
    buffers. This is now
    done asynchronously with 16K at the time, in an idle
    loop. Furthermore, STDERR and STDOUT
    are now non blocking and use 'read' instead of 'readline' to prevent
    blocking.

    no child process left running. Bind STDERR to STDOUT if both should

    will end the process with SIGKILL.

    Implemented fallback strategy for saving files when opening files
    read/write is not supported

    This should fix a problem with file systems that do not support
    opening files for read/write
    (such as the fuse file system: curlftpfs). The strategy is to open
    the file write only when read/write
    fails with ENOTSUP. This means that we will not be able to make a
    backup (and the user receives
    a warning for this), but at least we can safe the file now.

    Modified parse_modeline to work properly with line numbers indexed
    from
    one, not zero. This makes the modelines plugin scan the correct lines
    (as stated in the manual) and fixes GNOME bug #580494.
