How to compile GenomeThreader with your own libgenometools.a:
-------------------------------------------------------------

1.) Put genometools and gthlibdist in _parallel_ directories. For example:

/home/gordon/gthlibs-1.6.0-Linux_x86_64-64bit
/home/gordon/genomeotools

(The latter directory must be named genometools)

2.) Compile libgenometools.a:

$ cd /home/gordon/genometools
$ make cairo=no curses=no 64bit=yes

3.) Link GenomeThreader

$ /home/gordon/gthlibs-1.6.0-Linux_x86_64-64bit
$ make

The gth and gthconsensus binaries will be in the bin/ directory.
Copy your license file there to run them.

Typical development cycle:
--------------------------

1.) Source code: edit files in genometools/src/gth
2.) Recompile: repeat steps 2.) and 3.) from above
3.) Re-run: call bin/gth
