    The Stack submenu contains operations that either select a new
    layer as the active layer (top four items), or change the position
    of the active layer in the layer list (as shown in the Layers
    dialog).

      list to become the active layer for the image, as highlighted in

      list, this menu entry will be insensitive.  Note that on a

      English keyboard, the default shortcut <span><b class="keycap">Page_Up</b></span> 
      refers not to the keys on the number pad, but to the other "Page_Up" 
      key in a group of six keys to the left of the numberpad.

      Next Layer" may be very useful if you find yourself often
      picking colors from one layer to use for painting on another
      layer, especially in conjunction with the feature that makes
      most paint tools switch to color-picking mode if the
