This directory contains some neat scripts designed to be used with Gmp3.
There are many possibilities here. You can wrap other players, or make use
of visualization tools... perhaps write a script to load the mp3s from a
backup media or HD into a ramdisk for playing... use your imagination. :)

BTW, if you wrap other players, make sure they handle SIGSTOP and SIGCONT
nicely (ie, they handle ^Z and fg properly). mpg123 used to handle this
badly (of course, 0.59o is fixed), and other players might not do so well
either.

Current scripts:

splay.pl - A wrapper script for splay.
synaesthesia.sh - Script to use mpg123 in conjunction with Synaesthesia, a
nifty music visualization tool. Make sure you have lots
of CPU power for this one.
mpg123-gz.pl - Allows running mpg123 with compressed mp3's. Note
you get little space saving from this, it's just an
example of what you can do.
