<title>Conectar cunha rede sen fíos</title>
<p>Se ten un computador con unha tarxeta sen fíos que funcione pode conectarse a unha rede sen fíos cercana para obter acceso a Internet, ver ficheiros compartidos en rede e demáis.</p>

<p>Abrir o <gui xref="shell-introduction#systemmenu">menú do sistema</gui> na parte dereita da barra superior.</p>

<p>Prema <gui>Seleccionar unha rede</gui>.</p>

<p>Prema no nome da rede que quere, logo prema <gui>Conectar</gui>.</p>
<p>Se o nome da rede non está na lista, probe premendo <gui>Máis</gui> para ver se a rede está máis abaixo na lista. Se segue sen vela, pode que estea fóra da área de cobertura ou pode que a rede <link xref="net-wireless-hidden">estea oculta</link>.</p>

<p>Se a rede está protexida por un contrasinal (<link xref="net-wireless-wepwpa">chave de cifrado</link>), escriba o contrasinal cando se lle pida e prema <gui>Conectar</gui>.</p>
<p>Se non coñece a chave, pode que estea escrita na parte inferior do enrutador sen fíos ou da estación base, no manual de instrucións, ou pode ter que preguntar á persoa que administra a rede sen fíos.</p>

<p>A icona de rede cambiará a súa aparencia segundo o computador tente conectarse á rede.</p>

<p>If the connection is successful, the icon will change to a dot with
several curved bars above it
(<media its:translate="no" type="image" mime="image/svg" src="figures/network-wireless-signal-excellent-symbolic.svg" width="16" height="16"/>). More bars
indicate a stronger connection to the network. Fewer bars mean the
connection is weaker and might not be very reliable.</p>

<p>If the connection is not successful, you may be asked for your password
again or it might just tell you that the connection has been disconnected.
There are a number of things that could have caused this to happen. You could
have entered the wrong password, the wireless signal could be too weak, or
your computer’s wireless card might have a problem, for example. See
<link xref="net-wireless-troubleshooting"/> for more help.</p>
<p>Unha conexión máis forte a unha rede sen fíos non significa necesariamente que teña unha conexión a internet máis rápida, ou que terá velocidades de descarga máis rápidas. As conexións sen fíos conectan o seu computador ao <em>dispositivo que fornece a conexión a internet</em> (como un enrutador ou módem), pero as dúas conexións son realmente distintas, polo que terán velocidades distintas.</p>
