A sticky-note type program for Gnome.
To compile, it should be sufficient to type:
./configure
make
make install (as root)
If you get a message like " undefined reference to
`applet_widget_get_panel_pixel_size' ", type
make clean
./configure --disable-panel-size
make
and it may work.
If it still won't compile, and complains about something
involving applets, or you ALWAYS want to run Goats WITHOUT
the Gnome panel, use:
make clean
./configure --disable-panel
make
If all else fails, consult the instructions in the INSTALL file.
Run the program by typing 'goats' or using the 'add applet'
menu on your panel, and selecting 'Goats' under 'Utility'. To
run Goats without the panel (even if it has been compiled for it)
you can type 'goats --without-panel'
If you can't find it in the applet menu, the goats.desktop file
has been put in the wrong place. Try copying it from/to:
/usr/share/applets/Utility/
/usr/local/share/applets/Utility/
or wherever else your .desktop files go
If goats fails to start in the panel, the goats.gnorba file may
be in the wrong place. Try copying it from/to:
/etc/CORBA/servers
/usr/etc/CORBA/servers
/usr/local/etc/CORBA/servers
Instructions
------------
Click on the applet to get a new note. Right click on the applet
for some global options.
Drag the notes around with the dragbar at the top. Right click
anywhere for a menu specific to that note. Click on the cross
to delete the note. Drag on the resize icon to resize the note.
Double click on the title bar to set or change the title. Middle
click on the title bar to shade/unshade the note.
There is no 'save note' option - notes are automatically saved
when you logout or kill the applet.
