gPS FreeBSD README
------------------

gPS has been tested with FreeBSD 3.4, 4.0 and 4.2. Less information is
gathered on 4.X, but it still runs. Multi-threaded code looks
sluggish on 4.X, I don't know why. I'm not feeling like wasting my
time peeking kernel files to implement something that may change on
the next FreeBSD version. If you feel like maintaining the FreeBSD-
specific code, fine, contact me. The "not-ANSI-C++" thing with
vm_map.h on 4.X already made me quite upset.
To compile it on FreeBSD you'll need GNU Make and maybe Perl.
Also, as of GTK+ 1.2.9, GTK won't allow GTK programs to run
setuid root. Since gPS requires setuid root to run, it won't
get it running with 1.2.9. I'm wondering how to work around this.
