<dd><p>This function adds the elements of vector <var>b</var> to the elements of
vector <var>a</var>. The result <em>a_i \leftarrow a_i + b_i</em> is stored
in <var>a</var> and <var>b</var> remains unchanged. The two vectors must have
the same length.
