gTick v0.1.3	-	A GTK+ metronome
Copyright (c) 1999, Alex Roberts <bse@dial.pipex.com>

Welcome to gTick, a small metronome application written using the GTK+ widget
set. This application was written because of a need for a Linux (or even UN*X)
based metronome program. Having seen similar programs for Win95 (not really seen
but at least noticed links to on various search engines), and not seen any for
Linux/Un*x I just decided to go for it and write my own; and this is the final
outcome, a small and perfectly formed metronome application for Linux and Un*x.
Output is sent to the soundcard (using direct calls to /dev/dsp) and to the
speakers providing an simple timing guide.

gTick has a BPM (Beats Per Minute) scale of 30bpm to 250bpm, catering for almost
any need; and it is known to work on Linux (Kernel 2.2.1) and FreeBSD. It was
developed using GTK+ 1.1.14, so it needs at least that version (earlier versions
may work, but they are untested); gTick will NOT compile or work with GTK+ 1.0
For the latest GTK+ go to http://www.gtk.org

This is still in development, so there are likely to be bugs; So use it at your
own risk, I can't be held responsible for anything bad happening to your computer
or your life.

If you do find a bug, have any comments or ideas, then email me,
bse@dial.pipex.com

Visit the gTick homepage at http://bsenet.cjb.net/gtick for the latest release
of gTick.
And don't forget, the most important thing, HAVE FUN!!!

Thanks
