Gnome Toaster Alpha Informations,last updated:05.24.1999
--------------------------------------------------------
This is an early alpha archive of the Gnome Toaster package,
a cdrecord/mkisofs/cdda2wav frontend for creating data,audio
and mixed mode cds both from other cds or from self compiled data.
Although it does not have all of its planned functionality,it is yet
quite usable.
PLEASE DO REMEMBER THOUGH THAT THIS IS ALPHA SOFTWARE. GENERALLY,THE AUTHOR
CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY IMMEDIATE OR OTHER DAMAGE OF YOUR
HARDWARE,SOFTWARE OR DATA CAUSED BY THIS PROGRAM. AS GNOME-TOASTER IS FREE
SOFTWARE,THIS WILL APPLY TO ALL FURTHER VERSIONS OF THIS SOFTWARE,REGARDLESS
OF THEIR STATE OF DEVELOPMENT AND THEIR NAMING (ALPHA,BETA,FINAL).
EXPRESSIVELY I DENY ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGED CD RECORDERS OR CD MEDIA.
For further informations about certain issues concerning this software
look into the other info file in this directory. For installation issues,
this is a file called Install.
A list of persons who contributed to the project is included as textfile

Contributions to the project are always welcome. Please submit any
hints, patches and Bug reports to A.Eckleder@bigfoot.com
All contributors will,of course,be mentioned in Credits and the Changes
applied to the program will be logged in "Changelog" under their names.
Thats about it.
Remember, free software lives of Contributions.Do not hesitate to tell
me your opinion about this software, submit Bugreports, bugfixes, hints on
what to improve on the software, small patches.
Major features should be discussed previously though to avoid double
implementations or stale locks in the codebase, when two features should
exclude one another.
This software may be freely distributed under the GNU Public licence
(see copy included in this package).Third persons are explicitly allowed
to include this software into their own programes, improve the software,
redistribute the software, etc. as long as this is being done under the terms
of the GPL.
Finally,I hope this software will be useful. I personally think it is a
great improvement above all the software that exists for creating cdroms
with linux within a graphical environment. But do remember, Gnome Toaster
is a frontend with the sole purpose to build an user interface. The actual
process of creating a cdrom is done by the several client programs
for accessing the cd recorder and the cdrom drives. Those programs include
cdrecord, mkisofs and cdda2wav. For questions about the burning process,
the process of reading audio cds etc. consult the respective authors.
/* FIXME: include links and hints to the distribution sites of the here
mentioned programs and email adresses of their authors */
