      <title>Starchart operations</title>
      
      <para>The Echo Cluster is a square of 2000 by 2000
	  light-years, the starchart provides the player an extra
	  view, a margin around the Echo Cluster of 500 LY wide. It
	  has a grid, with 100 LY between lines.</para>
      
      <para>To scroll the starchart you can use the arrow keys, or
      drag it with the mouse. Also, you can toggle the grid by
      pressing <keycombo> <keycap>Ctrl</keycap> <keycap>G</keycap>
      </keycombo> and zoom in and zoom out with <keycap>+</keycap> and
      <keycap>-</keycap> from the keypad.</para>
      
      <para>The planet names are automatically hidden when you zoom
      out below 100%, but if you want you can turn them off using the
      <guimenuitem>Planet names</guimenuitem> entry on the
      <guimenu>View</guimenu> menu. Similar actions you can make with
      minefields and ion storms.</para>

      <para>On the <guimenu>View</guimenu> menu, you also have the
      <guimenuitem>Scanner area</guimenuitem> option, when activated
      will paint a shaded area on the starchart showing the sensors
      range that is covered from your ship and planets. You can use
      this feature with the
      <keycombo><keycap>Ctrl</keycap><keycap>A</keycap></keycombo>
      keystroke too. This feature is disabled by default.</para>
