The Debian package format 3.0 upgrade (debian/0.6.5-7.1) mandates that

- No direct chnagesa are made to upstream sources
- Any changes are stored in separate sets in debian/patches directory.

This directory contains files that were in debian/0.6.5-7 release's
source directory but which were not part of the upstream sources. They
were also not used by the Debian packaging process in debian/rules.
