iportuguese for DEBIAN
----------------------

This package contains the ispell files for Portuguese, as it is
spelled in Portugal (there is another Debian package called ibrazilian
for the spelling of Brazilian Portuguese). It is based on the
UMportugues package put together by Ulisses Pinto and Jose Joao
Almeida <jj@di.uminho.pt>, and was debianized by Rafael Laboissiere
<rafael@icp.inpg.fr>. The original source was obtained from

    http://www.di.uminho.pt/~jj/pln/UMportugues.tgz

This package installs portuguese.{aff, hash} as symbolic links to
portugues.{aff,hash} under directory /usr/lib/ispell.

To use the portuguese ispell dictionary you should invoke ispell as:

        ispell -d portugues <file>
or:
        ispell -d portuguese <file>

This package installs a startup file for (X)Emacs, making available a
ispell-dictionary called "portugues". It complies with the
requirements of Debian Emacs Policy (see
/usr/doc/emacsen-common/debian-emacs-policy.gz for details).
