When you update the module package it is not enough to unload the old
ipw2100 module with "rmmod ipw2100" and load the new one with modprobe.
You need to remove the following modules as well:

ieee80211
ieee80211_crypt_wep
ieee80211_crypt_tkip
ieee80211_crypt_ccmp
ieee80211_crypt

After that just load the new module with "modprobe ipw2100".

Rebooting the computer will do the trick as well.
