Converting from KRecipes to KookBook
====================================

If you have previously used krecipes, then you can convert your krecipes
database into a KookBook recipe folder using the conversion script that is
included in the package. The conversion script preserves: ingredients,
amounts, instructions, authorship, tags and images. The converted recipes
will not include the nutritional calculations that krecipes is able to
perform.

To use the KRecipes to KookBook converter:

1. Ensure that the python3 package is installed.

2. Create a directory in which you wish to store your KookBook collection,
   for example:

    $ mkdir ~/kookbook

3. Locate your KRecipes database. KRecipes gives you free choice on where
   this database is installed and what it is called, but it would normally
   have the file extension 'krecdb'. The following commands might find it
   for you if you don't know where it is stored.

    $ locate .krecdb

    $ find ~/ -name '*.krecdb'

4. Copy your KRecipes database to where your KookBook collection.

5. From the KookBook collection directory, run the krecipes.py converter:

    $ cd ~/kookbook
    $ /usr/share/kookbook/doc/krecipes.py

6. All the recipes from your KRecipes database should now be in that
   directory, with the filenames *.recipe.md

7. When starting KookBook, point it to that directory for your collection.

Remember that you can move the files into a directory hierarchy to categorise
your recipes and that KookBook also supports tagging of the recipes.
