<BR><H3><A NAME="_1_1"></A>So what is mod_auth_useragent?</H3>
<P>
Ever wanted a single one line way in your httpd.conf to
forbid clients based on their User-Agent? Here you go.
A couple of notes, first of all this is no a
great way to do security. Far from it actually.
Its trivial to change your User-Agent in most
browsers. So this really only works if people
play nice. Second note, there are a number of ways to do
most things, this just happens to be another. Email about
other methods will promptly get tossed into /dev/null.
</P>
<P>
I actually wrote this sometime ago (and I mean like a couple of years
ago). I needed it recently so I dug it up again, I am making
it public just because I figured it might be useful to someone
else.
</P>
<BR><H3><A NAME="_1_2"></A>Where do I get it from?</H3>
<P>You can get it from either <A HREF="http://software.tangent.org/download/">here</A> via the web or <A HREF="ftp://www.tangent.org/pub/apache/">here</A> via ftp.
<BR><H3><A NAME="_1_3"></A>What sort of license does it have?</H3>
<P>You are pretty much free to use it as you please. Check
out the License file with the distribution for more details.
<BR><H3><A NAME="_1_4"></A>How can I make suggestions for it?</H3>
<P>Send email to <A HREF="mailto:brian@tangent.org.">brian@tangent.org.</A></P>
<BR><H3><A NAME="_1_5"></A>How can I report a bug?</H3>
<P>Enter your bug here <A HREF="http://software.tangent.org/submit.pl">here</A>.</P>
<BR><H3><A NAME="_1_6"></A>How do I install it?</H3>
<P> Read the INSTALL file that comes along with the module. </P>
<BR><H3><A NAME="_1_7"></A>How do I use it?</H3>
<P>Just pop in the allow and deny directives in your httpd.conf or in
any directory, location and probably file directive.</P>
<BR><H3><A NAME="_1_8"></A>So what are the directives?</H3>
<p>
<li> AuthUserAgentAllow "Allow a User-Agent that was disallowed"
<li> AuthUserAgentDeny "Deny a connection by User-Agent."
</p>
