Welcome to APE release 1.0.0
This is the first full release for APE. Many bug fixes were added from
the last development release (0.9.7) including timer signal handling,
TCPSocket and TCPSession handling for client/server application development,
and many win32 specific fixes. This release is also the first distributed
along with a large number of binary packages from our various test
platforms. This release includes binary packages for Linux, Solaris, and
win32. APE is very portable, and we would be happy to distribute 1.0
binary packages from any platform APE is successfully built under.
The "Serial" class was removed with the 1.0 release as it is being
superseded by tdsio that will be part of the telephony devices
object framework.
The current release for APE can be found at ftp://ftp.voxilla.org/pub/ape
Starting with release 0.1.0, APE is now held in copyright by the Open
Source Telecom Corporation. This change in copyright in no way alters
APE's licensing status as GPL. All e-mail in regards to APE should now
be sent to dyfet@ostel.com.
