## This file contains the edge step uncertainty configuration group for Demeter

######################################################################
section=edgestep
section_description
  These parameters determine how background removal and normalization
  is done by Demeter.

variable=fullreport
type=boolean
onvalue=1
offvalue=0
default=false
description
  Tell a GUI to issue a full report on the edge step calculation.

variable=samples
type=positive integer
default=20
maxint=10000
description
  The number of samples to use in estimating the edge step
  uncertainty.

variable=margin
type=real
default=2.5
description
  The size of the margin for weeding out outliers. This is an attempt
  to remove obviously poor normalizations from the sampling of
  normalization parameter values. On the first pass, the standard
  deviation of the edge step values is computed. All values which lie
  this many standard deviations away from the initial edge step value
  will be removed from the sampling and the standard deviation will be
  recomputed.

variable=pre1
type=real
default=20
units=eV
description
  The size of the bubble around the initial bkg_pre1 value from which
  an evenly distributed random value will be chosen for bkg_pre1 for
  each sample.

variable=pre2
type=real
default=10
units=eV
description
  The size of the bubble around the initial bkg_pre2 value from which
  an evenly distributed random value will be chosen for bkg_pre2 for
  each sample.

variable=nor1
type=real
default=15
units=eV
description
  The size of the bubble around the initial bkg_nor1 value from which
  an evenly distributed random value will be chosen for bkg_nor1 for
  each sample.

variable=nor2
type=real
default=30
units=eV
description
  The size of the bubble around the initial bkg_nor2 value from which
  an evenly distributed random value will be chosen for bkg_nor2 for
  each sample.
