Description: A software decoder library for DV format digital video.
The Quasar DV Codec (libdv) is a software decoder for DV format video, as
defined by the IEC 61834 and SMPTE 314M standards. DV is the encoding format
used by consumer-grade digital camcorders.

This package contains the development headers and library files necessary
to compile programs using libdv, as well as sample programs for viewing
and encoding DV data.

Portions of the library are optimised in a way that doesn't allow dynamic
linking. Therefore, there is no Debian package containing a shared version
of libdv.
