.SH DESCRIPTION
\fBdefaults\fR allows users to read, write, delete and modify GNUstep
user defaults from a UNIX shell. If a file name is given with the
\fB-f\fR or \fB--filename\fR options, all operations are performed on
the contents of the given file; otherwise, the name of the file is
created by concatenating the environment variables \fBGNUSTEP_USER_PATH\fR/
and \fBGNUSTEP_DEFAULTS_FILE\fR (substituting \fI~/GNUstep/\fR and \fI.GNUstepDefaults\fR,
respectively, if these environment variables are not defined). Thus,
without any modifications, the file \fI~/GNUstep/.GNUstepDefaults\fR
is used, which is the file GNUstep uses to store user defaults in.
