<hr>
<p>The tifiles library provide a complete API (Application Programming
Interface) &nbsp;which makes use of TI files easy and transparent. <br>
<br>
Functions and data types are grouped in different topics, depending on
their purpose. Click on a topic for the description of all functions
and
data types defined in this topic.<br>
</p>
<p><span
 style="text-decoration: underline; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;">Important
note:</span> due to the fact that TiLP &amp; TiEmu heavily use the GLib
library, the tifiles2 library use the '<span
 style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;">glib filename encoding</span>'
for filenames.<br>
The 'glib filename encoding' encodes filenames with the following
charsets:<br>
- <span style="font-weight: bold;">UTF-8</span> charset on <span
 style="font-weight: bold;">Windows</span>,<br>
- <span style="font-weight: bold;">locale </span>charset on <span
 style="font-weight: bold;">Linux </span>(usually UTF-8 but this is <span
 style="font-weight: bold;">not </span>always true).<br>
</p>
<p>Please note that UTF-8 does not change encoding of ASCII characters
(0x00-0x7f). For more information, take a look at &lt;<a
 href="http://www.unicode.org/charts">http://www.unicode.org/charts</a>&gt;
and &lt;<a href="http://www.czyborra.com/utf">http://www.czyborra.com/utf</a>&gt;<br>
</p>
<p><span style="font-style: italic;"></span><span
 style="text-decoration: underline; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;">Important
note 2:</span> due to the new USB hand-helds, the folder &amp; variable
names are not always encoded as 'raw' any longer for now. The tifiles2
library use the 'Ti-File varname encoding' for varnames (see ticonv
library documentation: the varname can be encoded as raw/TI8x-charset
(TI8x), TI9x-charset
(TI9x) or pseudo UTF-8 (TI84+ USB &amp; Titanium USB)). <br>
</p>
<p>The real string
type depends on the calculator model passed by tifiles_set_tve() and
relies on ticonv conversion
routines to be handled fine (eg to you have to convert it with <a
 href="../../../ticonv/docs/html/tokens.c.html#ticonv_varname_to_utf8">ticonv_varname_to_utf8/utf16</a>
before displaying it or <a
 href="../../../ticonv/docs/html/filename.c.html#ticonv_varname_to_filename">ticonv_varname_to_filename</a>
to save it).
