This is the README file for "limo", an easy-to-customize alternative
to "ls". It may be invoked as "limo" or, in the tradition of 2-letter
Unix system commands, as "li". Allows easy migration by providing the
"-l" and "-s" options which behave similarly to those in "ls", in what
a Marketing Department would doubtless call a "Seamless ls Emulation
Layer" or some such gibberish.
"limo" uses pretty standard UNIX facilities thoughout, and thus
doesn't need any (many?) changes to compile on pretty much any Unix
platform. It has been testing on Linux 2.0.x, 2.2.x and Solaris
2.6. It is reported to compile and run on IRIX (unknown version). It
is reported not to compile on a DEC Alpha due to missing snprintf()
function, again, unknown OS version. Reports and patches for these or
other platforms are welcome.
Solaris users may wish to change the INSTALL variable in Makefile from
/usr/local to /opt. On the other hand, you may wish to leave it as
/usr/local. Help stamp out Sun's filesystem layout imperialist! :-)
Limo may be compiled under Cygwin by changing the EXESUFFIX in Makefile
To install:
make install
To remove:
make uninstall

file LICENCE and use the software only if you agree to the terms
therein.
